There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” —Maya Angelou

Hi, I’m Kathleen (she/her) and I’m all about creating a space where you feel safe, supported, and free to be yourself. I specialize in working with teen girls and young adults, helping them navigate life’s ups and downs—like anxiety, trauma, identity challenges, or big changes. My approach is LGBTQ+ affirming and grounded in anti-oppressive practices, so you can show up as your full, authentic self without fear of judgment.

I bring tools like calming techniques (thanks to my yoga teacher background), storytelling (narrative) therapy, and strategies to help your mind and body feel more connected. Whether you’re exploring who you are, looking for clarity, building confidence, or wanting better connections with yourself and others, I’m here to help you figure it out in a way that works for you.

Experience, Training and Licensure:

  • School social worker in Portland and Gresham (22 years) and Helsinki, Finland (4 years)

  • Smith College School of Social Work MSW 2001

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Oregon 2003, Washington (pending) and New York (pending)

My counseling style is warm, relaxed, and supportive. First, we’ll spend some time getting to know each other and talking about what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. From there, we’ll come up with a plan that fits you and helps build your confidence while supporting your growth.

I use a mix of different tools and techniques to help, like mindfulness, narrative therapy, calming strategies (based on polyvagal theory), and strength-based approaches. I also pull from things like DBT and motivational interviewing to make sure what we’re doing feels meaningful.

I am also a parent to two teenagers myself, have lived overseas for several years, and have a big love of the outdoors, travel, live music, yoga, and the arts.
